What is Microblading/ Feather Touch/ Feathering ?

Microblading is an advanced brow tattoo technique that uses a hand tool with a tiny row of needles. It is used to scratch thin, hair like strokes on the skin. This process lasts around 6-18 months depending on the skin type.

How long does it take?

The process takes around two hours but most time is spent in consultation and drawing in our shape. Actual tattoo time is around 30 minutes.

How long does Cosmetic Tattoo last?

This varies from person to person and a colour touch up is recommended from 6-18 months after your initial procedure.

Does the procedure hurt?

Topical gel is used to numb your skin before and during the procedure to avoid discomfort.

How long is the healing time?

Healing time varies but after about 10 days your tattoo may have shed then returned to normal. In the first week your tattoo is bolder and darker than usual and some redness can be present however it doesn’t look too intimidating, just an initial shock from the change of shape and colour.

How do you choose the shape for eyebrows?

At the beginning of the microblading or powder procedure the practitioner will draw in a shape for your brows and then we work together to perfect this to your preference. Measurements are taken to check symmetry and position.

How do you choose a colour?

Colours are matched to the natural hair growth( brows) or desired result for lip and eye liner. Colours are discussed in detail before the procedure.

What will my tattoo look like immediately after the procedure?

The area may be a little red and in some cases swollen but this is unlikely. It will be considerably darker for the first week, before it begins to fade out to a softer colour.

Will they fade?

Between the first and second session your tattoo may fade substantially or not at all. Different skins fade pigment at different rates. After your first session your therapist should be able to guide you on how your retention will be and perhaps adjust their technique or colour choice.

Can I get a Cosmetic Tattoo if I’m pregnant?

No you cannot have this treatment done if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Does it hurt afterwards?

The area can be a little sore for the first few hours but this pain subsides and is only noticeable through facial expressions. After about one day the pain is virtually gone.
